The location is very convenient, just steps away from the
Subway station. The room was clean and spacious, though the air conditioning wasn't very effective. Staff were friendly, and the breakfast had a wide selection, but the dining area could use more seating during busy times.

I stay at the Jianguo the last fouur years most of the times I am in Shanghai. All in this hotel are good including the location and the flexibility to move everywhere in Shanghai.
My only compaint during my stay is that they have considerably limited the smoking area in the lobby restaurant and bar and this is real uncomfortable. This time the room was a little noisy due to the lift being three rooms away. All the others excellent as usual.

Had breakfast for CNY 101 per person per day. Worth its 4 stars.

The stay was fantastic, especially given that it was so close to the metro entrance. I appreciated the spacious Superior Double Room, which offered a comfortable bed and strong shower water. The breakfast options were a good mix as well, catering nicely to both Asian and Western tastes. The nearby convenience store was a great touch for any late-night snacks! All in all, a solid choice for a group visit.

Perfect spot for exploring Shanghai
I loved the easy access to the metro just outside the hotel. The breakfast had a good variety, catering to different tastes and was always well-stocked.

Excellent location, right next to an underground station. The rooms are clean, and I had a room at the back which was very quiet. The japanese / asian dinner buffet is not good; it's great!
Some of the staff could be a little more friendly, as is often the case in Chinese hotels, but overall it's okay. The shower in my room had very low water pressure, which shouldn't happen in a hotel like this. The coffee at breakfast is awful: it only had the color, but no taste at all.

We enjoyed spacious, clean accommodations and appreciated the hotel's proximity to the subway. Our family, including our dog, had a lovely time visiting the nearby Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, just around the corner.
My wife says that the breakfast area could use more seating.
